Today, a U.S. military Osprey aircraft crashed off the coast of Japan, leaving one dead.
At the time of the crash, six people were on board but as of right now, it is unknown any further information on the crew.
A U.S. military official said that a search and rescue operation has begun as well as notifying family members of those who were on the aircraft.
This isn't the first time an Osprey aircraft has been involved in a crash, this type of aircraft has seen numerous crashes with multiple fatalities.
It has been asked by Okinawa Governor, Denny Tamaki to station all of the Ospreys in the area.
He said, "Given the concerns over the danger of Ospreys, as such unexpected incident became a reality, the only thing I can say is I regret it very much."
