Thousands of protesters lined the streets of Olympia Saturday, calling for a ceasefire in the conflicts in Israel before occupying the Washington State capital building.
The protestors aren’t alone, as London, Berlin, and Paris each had tens of thousands of citizens protesting in the time since.
A spokesperson for the local Democratic Socialists branch, stated, “This is a march against the genocidal siege being perpetrated by Israel against Gaza, and for an end to the root cause of this violence: the occupation of Palestine…We’re proud to stand with the 15 other organizations who have endorsed this march and called for an end to all U.S. aid to Israel, and for our state to cut all ties with the apartheid state.”
Protestors were noted calling out President Joe Biden, as well as Governor Jay Inslee, while laying across the steps of the capitol building holding images of recently deceased Palestinians.
This comes exactly a month after Hamas invaded Israel, beginning what has been a very intense battle in the middle east. Its being reported that over 10, 000 Palestinians have died to this point, in a war that U.N Secretary General Antonio Gutierez is calling a “graveyard for children.”
