On Sunday, former first lady Rosalynn Carter died at age 96.
Rosalynn was announced to enter hospice on Friday. She was diagnosed with dementia back in May with her husband, former president Jimmy Carter, starting home hospice back in April.
Both of the Carters were known for there efforts in mental health and human rights during their time in office.
Ceremonies celebrating Rosalynn's life are set to start this week in Georgia, where she passed away.
Former President Carter commented on his wife's passing by saying, "Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished. She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew someone loved and supported me."
