CWU Sports

Last week was a slow one with the holiday season eating up most of the week’s time, but we did have a few matchups with scores to report so lets hop right into them!

On Friday, the men's and women's basketball teams both made their way to play in exhibition matchups. The Men’s team were in Nampa, Idaho where they faced off against northwest Nazarene University, eventually dropping that matchup by a score of 75-79. This wouldn’t put a damper on the team though, as they marched into the next day of the tournament with a commanding win over Azusa Pacific, winning 81-47.

The women’s squad went up to Bellingham to take on Hawaii pacific in the Lynda Goodrich Classic, which they won handedly, by a score of 103-65. They then won in day two of the event as well, beating Minnesota State, Moorhead by a score of 73-59.

The next matchups for both wildcat basketball teams will be when they face off against Western Oregon University this Thursday, with the men’s game starting at 5:15 and the women’s directly following. These matchups will be played in Monmouth, Oregon.

Your CWU football team was in action on Saturday as they walked into Bemidji, Minnesota for the second round of the NCAA D2 tournament. The boys continued in their path of victory, beating Bedmiji State by a score of 21-17, and keeping themselves alive for a matchup against the #1 ranked Colorado School of Mines this Saturday. This matchup will take place in Golden, Colorado, and can be viewed via the Live Stream at wildcatsports.com.

This weeks schedule really is just made up of the matchups we’ve already covered, but on Thursday we have a special matchup taking place as the Lady Cat volleyball team will take on California State, San Bernardino in the first round of the NCAA D2 Tournament! This matchup will take place at 7:30, with the live feed available at wildcatsports.com.

Washington Sports

Before we end it off, I’d like to take a quick moment to memorialize the Pac-12, as UW beat WSU 24-21 this weekend in what will be their final inter-conference matchup.
