This last week came and went, and we’ve got plenty of sports news to go around.
Starting on last Thursday, the Lady cat soccer team welcomed Western Oregon University, and ended up tying in a game that was as closely contested as one could be. The Lady cats then played on Saturday, where they tied with Saint Martin’s University it what would be the final game of their season.
The Lady Cat basketball team was in action quite a bit this weekend, as they were in the Langley Township, British Columbia to compete in a tip off tournament. The team would look solid in their matchups, and would finish off the tournament with a record of 1-2 after beat #7 ranked UT Tyler on the final day of the contests.
The Lady Cat Volleyball team would travel to Nampa, Idaho on Saturday to compete again the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks, and compete they did, stomping the Nighthawks 3-0, and adding even more fuel to a team that’s been firing on all cylinders this year.
The Cross Country team was in Monmouth, Oregon on Saturday as they competed in the NCAA Regional championships, with the wildcats taking home 14th and 23rd. The big story to come out of the Championship though, was Star Wildcat Runner Johan Correa winning the Men’s 10K with a final time of 30:42. Correa has solidified himself as a top runner in the country, and will have an opportunity to prove that even further, as he will travel to Joplin, Missouri on November 18th to compete in the NCAA Championships!
The wildcat basketball team had their first home matchup of the preseason, facing the Gary Payton coached Lincoln University on Saturday. The game started off rough, with the wildcats down 15-2 to start it off, but this wouldn’t last long as the Wildcats would command the game from that point forward, and end the game with a 30 point victory, winning 94-64.
